Sea Hunt Forever
March 2 - March 3
Sea Hunt Forever returns to Silver Springs State Park the weekend of March 2-3, 2019 during the Florida Springsfest event. This tribute to the television show Sea Hunt brings to life a little SCUBA diving history with vintage dive gear and re-enactments of the TV show that inspired so many future divers.
The show, Sea Hunt, starring Lloyd Bridges as diver Mike Nelson, was on TV from 1958 to 1961 and over half the episodes were filmed at Florida’s Silver Springs. Each week Sea Hunt brought the excitement of the underwater world into our living rooms and many credit the show for the early popularity of the sport of SCUBA diving.
Vintage dive gear enthusiasts from around the world will be on-hand to display collections of early equipment, including renowned Sea Hunt collector and historian Alec Peirce. Stop by, see his fantastic collection of Sea Hunt memorabilia, and talk to him about all things Sea Hunt!
Divers will put on an underwater show as they act out scenes from Sea Hunt using actual scripts from the show.
Sea Hunt Forever is held in conjunction with the Floridas Springsfest which promotes preservation of the springs through awareness and stewardship.
Bring the family and spend the day enjoying one of Florida’s natural treasures, learn about our beautiful springs, and take a stroll back in time with Sea Hunt Forever!
